Spring Showcase of Arts and Crafts
Samuel Kirk School
520 S. Plum Grove Rd.
Palatine, IL
This is a fun indoor arts and crafts show and a great way to start out the show season. I have kept this show on my "to do" list because of the quality of work, the wonderful cause it supports, and the wonderful folks who coordinate it.
Kirk school educates physically challenged children. It's a joy to see their students and graduates come through with relatives and hear some of their successes. And the parents, teachers and sorority running the show are so upbeat it makes for a wonderful setting.

Sat. May 19 and Sun. May 20 (10 am - 5 pm)
WSAG (West Suburban Artist Guild) Art in the Park
Mills Park
217 S. Home Ave.
Oak Park, IL
Oak Park is always a wonderful area to show stained glass given the Frank Lloyd Wright influence. This show is held in a park near downtown Oak Park which means, if you're coming from out of town, you can enjoy both the art show, nice restaurants and architectural tours (if you have any energy left. Giggle giggle.)
Along with a great selection of artists from Michigan, Indiana and Illinois and other places, this show has had live music, and wonderful food (artichoke soup and pizza from a local restaurant.) If you have a chance, stop by and say "hi."
Sat. July 28 and Sun. July 29 (11 am - 5 pm)
Glenview Art League Summer Art Fair
Lyons School grounds
Waukegan Road and East Lake Avenue
Glenview, IL
This is one of my favorite shows. It's in its 59th year and the artists that attend are "top notch." One of my customers last year raved about some unique wedding gifts she found at this show. (I would like to add that if you're tight on time, locating the show and parking are a breeze.)
If you have a chance to stop by, I would love to see you, show you my new work, and hear how things are going.
Fri. August 17 (11 am - 7 pm) and Sat. August 18 (9 am - 5 pm)
38th Annual Oak Park Ave. - Lake St. Arts and Crafts Show
Scoville Park
Oak Park Ave. and Lake St.
Oak Park, IL
This is a sweet show located next to the Oak Park Public Library. There is a great love for art as seen in the work displayed in the library as well as the number of galleries a few blocks away. It seems like every year I've done this show it has rained at some point, but it's never stopped the customers and residents from coming out. Thank you, Oak Park!
The big grassy location is right off a main street and within an easy walk to downtown Oak Park. If you're interested in history, this area sports a number of Frank Lloyd Wright homes and a museum which can be toured. Hope to see you there.
