Over the years, I have found my designs becoming more abstract. This doesn't, however, mean that there are not "ideas" behind the designs (as indicated by their titles) but that the resulting images are more figurative than literal. Without the title, a person's imagination is key to interpreting and appreciating the work.
"Openings" (spaces without glass) keep cropping up in the new work as seen in each of the pieces on this page. Sometimes the openings frame an object such as a geode slice or round marble-looking stones. Other times, the openings act as pathways almost like a labyrinth.
Enjoy!
This piece expands on the natural design of the geode slice gracing the center of the work.
The openings around the glass reminds me a little of the open work in Japanese gates.
Seeing the design as an arial view of a formal French garden helped me to organize the colors for this piece.
There are actually stone "marbles" suspended in the center of this piece -- one a red stone, one a blue and one a yellow.
