Abstract Stained Glass Designs
For me, abstract design work is always initiated by an idea.   Many of these pieces were designed when thinkng about sea shells and their forms.  A few of the pieces were inspired by the character of the glass itself.
"Multiply"
10" x 8 1/2"w
$155.00
The mottled glass, known as "cat's paw," is almost opaque and looks best when hung on a wall.  Wonderful shadows are created by the marbles radiating from the piece.
"Scottish Bonnet"
10 1/2" x 15 1/2" w
A seashell called Scottish Bonnet inspired this design.
"Shell Form II"
8" x 12"w
Shell Form I
9 1/2" x 15"w
$225
The turquois blue glass is  iridescent on one side.
"At and Through"
17" x 8"w
$265.00
Inspired by the handblown orange glass.  Named because it was designed to look equally interesting with the light bouncing off of it as through it.
"Konza Prairie Postcard"
6" x 9"w
SOLD
The same glass used above had a prairie grass "look" to it.  The "clouds" are sandblasted on the purple glass sky.
Place curser over picture for larger view.
"Fullness"
11" x 15"w
SOLD
Some people see an owl in this design.  I see the torso of a belly dancer as she moves with outstretched arms.
"Primary"
21" x 12"
SOLD
This is the abstract representation of the waist and hips of a belly dancer.  Small pieces of beaten copper hang from the yellow waist line.  I named it "Primary" both for the colors used and for the primal nature of the dance.
